About SnapCommit

SnapCommit is a browser-local utility for cleaning pasted financial tables before copying them into Excel or another spreadsheet. It is built by Arjun Varma.

What it does

Normalize recognized number formatting, turn accounting parentheses into negative signs, remove blank or repeated header rows when enabled, and review every change. Copy the result or export CSV.

A deliberately small tool

SnapCommit uses local parsing rules. It makes no AI calls and does not require a ChatGPT account, browser extension or spreadsheet add-in. It does not validate your books or replace a spreadsheet's import controls. The bank CSV workflow maps columns, checks dates and amounts, and flags possible duplicates before export.

From PasteFix to SnapCommit

The tool was initially introduced as PasteFix. It was renamed SnapCommit in September 2026 to use the existing snapcommit.dev domain. The current product is the table-cleanup utility described here.
